Such an exciting idea to gather a drove of women from all ages and environs together in the jungles of Louisiana and dance our hearts out!
It will be between 4-6 days/nights of dance training in styles like West African, Afro-Haitian, Afro-Brazilian, Afro-Cuban, Salsa/Rhumba/Cumbia, Bellydancing, trance, disco & soulful free style, lessons and free movement periods as well as an end of camp dance party. In between the dance, there would be empowering talks on sexuality, healing from traumas and disappointment etc, confidence and intimacy workshops along with free periods of swimming in the lake (yes we'll make a lake!), making arts and crafts and just lounging around the camp leisurely.
All woman, all safe.
Food and amenities are serviced by Project Artemisia staff who are in the ongoing recovery program from abuse and trafficking/sex work.
This is a dream yet to be realized. :)
